Young actors Prince and Naresh Agastya star in the upcoming film “Kali,” produced by Rudra Creations and presented by renowned writer K. Raghavendra Reddy. Directed by Siva Sashu, the film is a psychological thriller set for a grand theatrical release on the 4th of this month. Ahead of the release, the pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, with Mega Prince Varun Tej as the chief guest.
At the event, actor Mahesh Vitta shared, “I dubbed the character of the Cockroach in ‘Kali.’ Along with me, Priyadarshi and Ayyappa Sharma contributed voices, which are featured throughout the film. I thank director Siva Sashu for allowing me to be part of this innovative project.”
Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy praised the film’s content, saying, “The storyline of ‘Kali’ is excellent. I hope it becomes a massive success. Many farmers and students suffer from pressure that leads to suicide. If we can encourage them to think differently, we can prevent such tragedies. The film aims to deliver this important message.”
DOP Danny commented on the film’s visuals, stating, “The cinematography in ‘Kali’ is impressive. Nishant has done a fantastic job. You can see the dedication of the entire team in the making video. I hope the audience responds positively to the film.”
Director Balagam Venu encouraged viewers to watch “Kali,” saying, “Prince shared this project with me, and I believe it will resonate well with young audiences. Along with entertainment, it carries a significant message. We should all support such meaningful efforts.”
Director Mallik Ram expressed his admiration for the film, saying, “Prince is a good friend of mine, and he spoke highly of ‘Kali.’ The visuals are stunning, and I hope it becomes a big hit.”
Presenter K. Raghavendra Reddy highlighted the film’s social relevance, stating, “Suicide is a pressing issue in our society today. By addressing suicidal thoughts, we can save many lives. We made ‘Kali’ with this message in mind. Our producer, Leela Gautam Varma, passionately brought this film to life, and both Prince and Naresh delivered remarkable performances. I hope for your support.”
Producer Leela Gautam Varma expressed gratitude to the guests at the event, including Varun Tej, Allari Naresh, Priyadarshi, Balagam Venu, Akash Anna, and others. “Thanks to Nag Ashwin for releasing our teaser, to Prabhas for sharing it on social media, and to Prashanth Varma for releasing the trailer. ‘Kali’ will be in theaters on the 4th. We hope you all will watch and support our film,” she said.
Director Siva Sashu said: “The performances of Prince and Naresh in ‘Kali’ will impress everyone. We truly understand the pain when we fall; ten people learn if we rise again. This is the essence of ‘Kali.’ Our team was incredibly supportive throughout the filming process, and we thank them all. We aimed to deliver our best output, and we hope for your support.”
Heroine Neha Krishnan remarked: “‘Kali’ is my first theatrical release. I had previously worked on two films that were released on Aha. I flew in from America last night to see my movie in theaters here in my hometown Hyderabad. I am currently shooting another film in the US. I am thrilled to act alongside Prince and Naresh in this heart-touching film that conveys an anti-suicide message. I encourage everyone to watch it in theaters with me.”
Actor Priyadarshi expressed: “Prince is my best friend. When he mentioned ‘Kali,’ I encouraged him to pursue roles similar to those in ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘DJ Tillu.’ However, he assured me that the subject matter was compelling. This film addresses the rising suicide rates in our country post-COVID, making it a purposeful project. I lent my voice to the character of Balli, and I believe ‘Kali’ should be a significant hit. Best of luck to the entire team!”
Hero Akash Jagannath added: “I’m happy to be part of this event for ‘Kali.’ The trailer showcases intriguing content, and creating a film with limited locations is a challenge. The team has put in remarkable effort. If the film is good, the Telugu audience will undoubtedly support it.”
Hero Prince expressed his gratitude: “Thank you to Varun, Naresh, Akash, and all the guests at our ‘Kali’ event today. Rebel Star Prabhas anna shared our Kali Teaser and our film got more reach in audience and trade circles. Lot of Distributors also enquired about the film. Thanks a lot anna. When ‘Kali’ was announced, my friends suggested I stick to romantic films. However, deep emotions inspired me to make this film. The suicide of my favorite hero, Uday Kiran, has affected me profoundly, and the loss of my close friend, who also committed suicide, left me heartbroken. I felt compelled to address this issue through storytelling. I assure you, ‘Kali’ will not disappoint; it features thrilling elements, great music, and engaging characters. Thanks to director Siva Sashu, producer Gautham, presenter Raghavendra Reddy, and JB for the captivating music. Let’s meet in theaters on the 4th to watch ‘Kali.'”
Hero Allari Naresh remarked: “I’ve known Prince for a long time, and he has quickly established himself as a talented actor. I hope ‘Kali’ brings him another success. Though Naresh Agastya couldn’t attend, his performance is commendable. ‘Kali’ presents a meaningful concept regarding suicides. Be sure to watch it in theaters. Director Siva Sashu, producer Leela Gautam, DOPs Nishant and Ramana, and heroine Neha are all newcomers in this project. I understand the challenges for newcomers during their film’s release, so let’s support them in achieving success with their first film.”
Mega Prince hero Varun Tej said: “I’m delighted to attend the event for ‘Kali.’ Along with me are Naresh, Priyadarshi, and Akash. Prince is a close friend and a dedicated actor. While he shines in lead roles, he has also taken on supporting roles in films like ‘DJ Tillu’ and ‘Skanda,’ gaining recognition through them. He shared exciting details about this film with me. If the content is good, the Telugu audience will surely appreciate it. We hope ‘Kali’ receives your support. Best wishes to producer Leela Gautam Varma, director Siva Sashu, heroine Neha, and the entire team.”
